One thing is for sure, Great Depressions, wars, and bad times don’t last forever. They always run their cycle. But what is funny is that most people forget that there is a cycle and start getting so depressed that they structure their lives in such a way that they are preparing for worse times. Just as in good times we can’t expect the euphoria and the stock market to keep going strait up, in bad times we can’t expect the depressing news and the market to go strait down forever until everyone is living on roots and worms. There is a cycle for everything and the pendulum has recently swung way into the negative territory. That means that it is getting ready to swing way into the positive territory. Will you be ready?

The greatest preparation is to get our heads on right so that we start doing the actions and start expecting to see prosperity. If we don’t believe it, we won’t see it. Even during prosperous times, if you believe you will have poverty, then you will subconsciously fulfill your belief. We have real reasons to believe that we will have prosperity as the current bad times are laying the seeds for good. Here is what you can do so you are ready when those seeds sprout and flower.

Keep Your Powder Dry —Spend your money only on what will support your new prosperity. In the next year you are going to see once in a lifetime opportunities. You must be ready to act. Avoid debt and long term contracts that will lock you into mistakes. Be able to discriminate between excellent opportunities and okay opportunities. Educate Yourself for the New Prosperity —What do you need to know for the new prosperous world? New industries are starting to appear especially in the “Green” sector. In Oregon, everyone is excited because new factories are being built to manufacture solar cells. What new industry is right for you? Do you need to go back to school or can you learn it on your own? Do you need to go back for your MBA or can you start that business by reading twenty good books from the library? What skills will you need? Is now the time to become a master gardener, a consummate cabinet maker, or software architect? Do you know what you really-really want to do? Make Your Network Powerful —I am not just talking about people you know at work, at church, or friends, I am talking about everyone with whom you have ever come into contact. People you went to school with, people you worked with in other jobs, and past customers all make up your network. Make contact with them again and develop a closer relationship. Internet networking sights such as Linkedin, all make it easy and very powerful. If it is true that it’s not what you know but who you know, then Linkedin makes it easy to know people. By knowing people you can ask questions, find jobs, find employees, get more business, find opportunities, and be of greater service. Be Ready For Success —The worse thing a business can do is advertise a big sale on an item and then not have the item when customers come to the store. It makes the customers mad and the store loses sales. They were not ready for success. In fact, they might drive customers away and create bad will. In a similar way, in everything we do, we need to plan as if our actions are going to work. If we get more education or start a business, then we need to think about getting a new job or having a successful business and being ready for our boss or customers. We need to imagine what success will look like so we will be ready to take on those success responsibilities. If we’re not ready for the success responsibilities like having the stock on hand for the customers to buy, then we will come to the brink of success and then immediately withdraw back to a less successful state. By that time, it might be too late to create a thoughtful résumé. Get Your Body, Mind and Spirit Ready for the New Prosperity —Where there is a will, there is a way. But if you don’t want to do it or don’t believe you can, then there is no way. No way, can be translated to mean, no physical energy, no understanding of how, and no faith in the future. The above are the enemy attitudes of your prosperity. Get Energy, get your Body in Shape —Exercise and weight lift daily, eat a healthy diet, take dietary supplements, and get plenty of sleep. Get Your Mind in Line —Study others who have been successful in your area until you believe you will be successful too because you have taken the right actions. Know what you need to do and then do it. Get yourSpirit in the Power Mode—Pray, meditate, contemplate and take long walks in the country. Know that you will receive inspiration and answers to all your questions. With this superior information, you will know what to do. Meditate on what you want, not on what is not working. Imagine your success as if it is happening right now. Of course, it is.

During both bad times and good some people create wonderful lives and prosperity. That is because they prepared themselves for abundance. Part of what made the Great Depression depressing is that people thought it was going to go on forever and ever. As a result, some of those people took longer to wake up to the new prosperity of the 1950’s and still believed in poverty.
