Prosperity- Abundance
I do not know if there is anyone who does not want or desire Prosperity. Yet again, Prosperity is much like Success, it means different things to different people as to what satisfaction it brings. When I began to study the word, I never saw anything that described it as “rich”. Many other words but not “rich”. Obtaining good fortune in our life does not necessarily mean money or things because it is described as: calm, quiet, peace, ease, gratification, peace of mind, security and tranquility to name just a few.
The last sentence of words describes many things other than money or being rich. Good Fortune is anything that has happened to you that brings about increase in you life, whether it be love, a better job, a new house, a new child, a new car….but nothing still indicates riches. Yet, when we look at the increases we have mentioned, they are riches in more beautiful ways than having millions in the bank. Millions in the bank does not bring the love of a child, the love of a companion, peacefulness or tranquility. It seems sometimes that a lot of money can only bring about loneliness, solitude, emptiness, silence and isolation. Oh, and do not let me forget greed and selfishness which can bring about all the other negative things we have mentioned. We must know when success is enough or should I say Prospirity.
If we study what we think of when we think about being prosperous, I am sure we do not want to be alone or lonely or without the love of another human being. If we are genuine, selfless humans, we would like prosperity enough to make life easier, more comfortable and I would hope enough to help someone who can’t help themself. I read that actually you have never given, until you give, when you have nothing to give. Sounds sensible. If it is no sacrifice, what actually have we accomplished? I am not saying that it is not good to give if you have plenty, but what I am saying is that we can give to others, even if we have little and thereby help ourself. What you give away has a way of coming back to you…and what you have rendered within your being is called compassion. If we care for others and think like responsible people,we will have more than we need anyway.

I believe that Prosperity and abundance is like being full of eveything good in your life. Love, kindness, humility,thankfulness, appreciation,gratitude, compassion, and in other words; unless we have these things in our life….being wealthy money wise does not means we have prosperity. You may disagree and yes it would nice to have a bundle of money, but it cannot produce the most important emotions that humans need to survive. Prime example…Tiger Woods…nothing further to say.
The opposite of Prosperity is failure, lack, lost, poverty. Again, we must have failure to have success. If we have never been in need of something (lack) we do not appreciate what we have been blessed with. If we have never lost, we cannot know the joy of winning and if we do not understand poverty, we have no compassion.
Having Prosperity or wanting it is not a sin for sure. What is important is having a balance with it, knowing how to live with your accomplishments and share your wealth of knowledge with other who are less fortunate…it still does not have to be “money” or “riches”. Sharing with some kid just our of college who wants to become a powerful executive, a bit of your knowledge is something you can give away that cost nothing but a little time.
